Prayer is vital to our spiritual life in Christ.  I have been convicted through a recent study with my small group to ramp up my prayer life to make it more intentional and meaningful.  Christ gave us an example of how to pray in Matthew 6:9-13.  It's sort of like a template outlining these 5 sections:  Adoration, Consecration, Supplication, Intercession, and Protection.  Within these parts, we can have the liberty of personalizing our talk with God.  Someone has likened it to "riffing" much like a jazz musician takes a piece of music and makes it his own.
